Dotun Adebayo

Dotun is a trading and investment professional with more than seven years of work experience in the financial industry. He started his career in the industry as a graduate trainee at Stanbic IBTC where he had the opportunity to work in the Finance and Corporate Credit departments. He later joined the Investment Management team at Stanbic IBTC Pensions Managers, as a portfolio analyst/fund manager of the RSA Fund, Nigeria’s largest fund, with an AUM in excess of ₦1.5 trillion as of June 2016. As a portfolio analyst for the team, he was responsible for backtesting novel and augmented investment strategies, providing market insights to clients, quarterly investment reporting, conducting research by carrying out empirical and theoretical studies, and optimizing different portfolios by carrying out scenario analysis.

He left the firm in 2016 to pursue a master's degree in mathematical finance at Boston University, Massachusetts and subsequently joined State Street Corporation as a database analyst in the Foreign Exchange department of the firm. Through this opportunity, he was able to put his quantitative and analytical skillsets to use. He led an initiative that improved the turnaround time of generating FX instructions and coordinated a major data migration process by collaborating with different onshore and offshore teams, including the information technology unit, business partners, and trading unit. He was also in charge of the offshore settlement team that was based in India, with a mandate to ensure error-free settlement. He decided to pursue a career as a day trader after his short stint at State Street, prior to joining Finserve.

Dotun is a graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos, Akoka and he has a Master's degree in Mathematical Finance from Boston University, Massachusetts.
