Lanre Mohammed

Lanre is a seasoned investment and finance professional with close to 2 decades of work experience. He started his career with IBTC Pension Managers in the investment management unit. Over a 12 years period, he rose to become a Senior Portfolio Manager, managing the Stanbic IBTC RSA Fund, Nigeria’s largest fund, with AUM in excess of ₦1.5 Trillion. He also led initiatives such as the development of the RSA Multi-Fund Strategy and Alternative Investments Strategy for investing in infrastructure and private equity funds.

He joined Stanbic IBTC Asset Management in 2018 to establish the Alternative Investments Unit and was subsequently assigned to Head the Investment Management Department. In this role, he had responsibilities for 15 SEC registered Funds and 100+ private portfolios with AUM in excess of ₦800bn. During his 5-years stint at Stanbic IBTC Asset Management, he superintended the registration of 4 new funds with the SEC, which includes 2 Infrastructure Funds valued at ₦450bn, 1 Shariah Fund and 1 Fixed Income Fund. He also secured the Fund Management mandate for a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) valued at ₦26bn+. His most recent role was Senior Vice President in the Stanbic IBTC Infrastructure Fund Unit with responsibilities for project development, deal origination, due-diligence, structuring and execution.

Lanre is a SEC Sponsored Individual and has participated in various industry-wide initiatives, such as leading the market competitiveness work-group of the Capital Market Master Plan for the SEC. He also served on the Executive Committee (EXCO) of Fund Managers Association of Nigeria (FMAN) as the Chairman of Technical & Enlightenment Committee.

Lanre is a graduate of Economics from Bowen University, Iwo and has a Masters Degree in Business & Management from the University of Essex, UK.
